COME ON ... Who doesn't want to (a) run a half marathon and (b) raise some money for a GREAT cause???
Well, I do and am jumping in with both feet! Those that know me, know that I am quick to embrace a challenge - this is that challenge and I would love your support.
The race itself is the Gettysburg Blue - Gray Half Marathon, taking place April 2020 on the hallowed grounds of Gettysburg PA. I am sure you all have heard of the events that transpired in July 1863 on the fields in / around Gettysburg and that has great meaning for me. My goal is to honor this historic site and finish the 13.1 miles in under 2 hours (
that's moving for this big man).
The cause I am raising funds for is truly a worthy one!
Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946 does much for those who have given of themselves for you and me. They have developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members – veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.
Please check out their site linked above, understand their mission and see the lives impacted. My goal is to raise $1000 for this worthy cause - can you please help?
